What Pokémon Saiph 2 changes

How the game plays differently from Pokémon FireRed, then what it does to the Pokémon.

How the game plays

Pokémon Saiph 2 is the third game in Vytron's VytroVerse, sending the player into the new Regris region. It's built on Pokémon FireRed with the CFRU and DPE engines, which bring in the whole Gen 8 National Pokédex, a DexNav-style search tool, and new ways to explore: soaring above Regris and diving under its water. Ancient Regression, new to this game, is an item-triggered transformation for certain Pokémon that works like Mega Evolution — hold or use a species' own Regression Shard in battle. The postgame adds a Battle Frontier and a run of legendary encounters, most of them unlocked by talking to an NPC once the main story and a few side objectives are done.

The main changes

  • The full Gen 8 National Pokédex, not just the species FireRed originally had
  • DexNav helps track down wild Pokémon
  • Soar above Regris and dive underwater, each with wild tables of their own
  • Ancient Regression — an item-triggered transformation, similar to Mega Evolution, for dozens of species
  • Day and night, EV training, and a way to change a Pokémon's nature
  • Reusable TMs
  • A Battle Frontier and other postgame content, including a run of legendary encounters
  • A Spanish translation is also available, by YOSOYKIKE
  • More than one difficulty mode to choose from

How the Pokémon change

This game's documentation doesn't publish base stats, so there is nothing here to set beside the official numbers. What it does publish is elsewhere: movesets, encounters and trainer teams.
