Pokémon Definitive Platinum
Every one of Sinnoh's 493 Pokémon obtainable in a single save, with a starter waiting at each gym city and Sinnoh's whole legendary and mythical roster scattered across the map.
More about the game
BigNation's complete overhaul of Pokémon Platinum, built so every one of the 493 Pokémon that existed at the time can be caught or hatched without trading. Wild tables were rewritten region-wide -- the release post tells players to use the creator's own encounter sheet in place of the in-game Pokédex, since the Pokédex's location text no longer matches. A second starter Pokémon is handed out in a different city after each gym badge, and nearly every legendary and mythical from Gens I-IV is placed somewhere in Sinnoh, from the three roaming birds to Arceus itself. A handful of evolution methods were changed as well -- Magneton, Nosepass and the trade evolutions no longer need a link cable, and several baby Pokémon now evolve at level 2. Base stats, types, abilities, level-up learnsets and TM data are all untouched from vanilla Platinum, and BigNation's release post says trainers were revamped throughout, though no roster document is published anywhere the thread links.
What's different, point by point
- All 493 Pokémon obtainable in one save file, per the creator's release post
- Wild encounter tables rewritten across all 71 documented locations, with the creator's own rates and level ranges
- A second starter Pokémon gifted in a different city after each gym badge
- Nearly every Gen I-IV legendary and mythical placed somewhere in Sinnoh, including the three roaming legendary birds
- 34 evolution methods changed, mostly removing trade requirements and adding level-2 evolutions for baby Pokémon
- Quality-of-life changes and revamped trainer teams, per the release post (no roster document is published)

What this guide covers
Every guide here is built from the game's own documentation. Where a ROM hack changed something but never published the numbers, this says so rather than quietly filling the gap with the original game's — which would be worse than leaving it out.
| Section | Source | |
|---|---|---|
| Wild Pokémon by area | From the game itself | The creator's own encounter sheet covers 87 locations (71 per its own tab, 87 resolved here). |
| Encounter rates | From the game itself | Per-slot percentages are the sheet's own values, printed as given and never rescaled. |
| Wild levels | From the game itself | Level ranges are the sheet's own values. |
| Stats, abilities and movesets | Unchanged from the base game | The creator states stats, types, abilities and learnsets were not changed from vanilla Pokémon Platinum, so these pages show vanilla Platinum's own numbers. |
| TM and HM compatibility | Unchanged from the base game | The creator states TM data was not changed from vanilla Pokémon Platinum, so this page shows vanilla Platinum's own TM list and compatibility. |
| Where TMs are found | Not published by the creator | TM/HM pickup locations are not published anywhere in the release thread, its ReadMe or the linked sheet. Ask in the Discord Definitive Platinum is built on Platinum; the Platinum guide has the original game's TM locations. |
| Trainer and boss teams | Not published by the creator | The release post says trainers were revamped, but no roster document is linked anywhere the creator posts. Ask in the Discord Definitive Platinum is built on Platinum; the Platinum guide has the original game's trainer teams. |

Reading the tables
SourceWild encounters, the 34 changed evolutions and the gift/legendary placements all come from the creator's own linked Google Sheet, pulled tab by tab from its public gviz/tq CSV endpoint (the sheet's own xlsx export bounces to a Google sign-in wall). The release post tells players to use this sheet in place of the in-game Pokédex.
UnchangedThe creator states base stats, types, abilities, level-up learnsets and TM data were not touched from vanilla Pokémon Platinum, so this guide's Pokémon and TM pages carry vanilla Platinum's own numbers for every species and TM the encounter and gift tables name.
EvolutionsOnly the 34 evolutions the sheet lists as changed are shown as changed; every other species keeps vanilla Platinum's own evolution chain, which the sheet doesn't restate.
TrainersThe release post says trainers were revamped and new fights added, but no roster document is linked anywhere in the thread, its ReadMe or the release Drive folder. Ask in the hack's Discord.
StagesBadge order and area placement follow vanilla Pokémon Platinum's own Sinnoh routing -- nothing found says routes or badges were rearranged. HM and rod availability isn't stated anywhere in the source, so no stage is claimed for those methods.
