About Blaze Black 2 & Volt White 2
The 2012 original by Drayano, and the hack the later Redux is built on. Every Pokémon from the first five generations is catchable somewhere in Unova, wild tables are rewritten route by route, trade evolutions are self-contained, gym leaders and bosses field full six-Pokémon teams with held items and real movesets, and the legendaries appear as overworld sprites you can hunt down once you unlock them. It ships in two flavours: the Complete version, which adds stat, type, ability and level-up move changes, and the Vanilla version, which keeps official values and only changes encounters, trainers and items. Drayano now recommends Blaze Black 2 Redux / Volt White 2 Redux over this release — there is a separate guide for Redux on this site — but the original is still up for anyone who wants the 2012 version.
What's changed
- All 649 Pokémon obtainable, nearly all of them before the Elite Four
- Every wild table in Unova rewritten, with seasonal lists shown in full
- Legendaries appear as overworld encounters once you unlock them
- Gym leaders, Elite Four, rival and Team Plasma bosses rebuilt with items and abilities
- Guest rosters: the Hoenn gym leaders and champions, plus the Striation brothers
- Trade evolutions changed to item or level evolutions
- Item balls reshuffled so the good TMs arrive far earlier
- Separate Challenge Mode teams for every gym leader and the Elite Four

Every guide here is built from the hack's own documentation. Where a hack changed something but never published the numbers, this says so rather than quietly filling the gap with the original game's — which would be worse than leaving it out.

Reading the tables
VersionThis is the original 2012 release (v1.1.0). Drayano has since recommended Blaze Black 2 Redux / Volt White 2 Redux, made by AphexCubed with his help — there is a separate guide for Redux on this site, and it is the better starting point unless you specifically want the 2012 version.
BuildsThe hack ships as Complete and Vanilla. Everything in the Pokémon, move and evolution documents applies to Complete only; Vanilla keeps the official stats, types, abilities and level-up sets but still uses the hack's wild encounters, trainers and items.
RatesPercentages are the hack's own encounter rates; * marks anything at 5% or less. Surfing and fishing levels in the source document are a median average.
SeasonsAreas with seasonal variation are listed once per season, exactly as the documentation splits them.
TrainersOnly the hack's boss rosters are documented — gym leaders, the Elite Four, the rival, Team Plasma, the Shadow Triad and the guest trainers. Ordinary route trainers aren't listed anywhere, so they aren't here either.
PairsWhere a boss fights alongside a partner, the partner's Pokémon are listed in the same team.
SlashesWhere the documentation gives two options separated by a slash, the first is the Complete version and the second is Vanilla; the Complete one is shown.
DifficultyChallenge Mode teams replace the Normal ones outright. Where a section only states a level shift, Challenge adds the stated amount to the levels shown.
